Processing and Recycling Stock Returns of DVD/Blu-ray

Challenge:

Sky had a significant volume of unsold and returned stock of DVDs and Blu-rays that needed to be processed and recycled. They required a detailed stock count of all returned items, followed by the secure and responsible recycling of the materials. To maintain transparency and ensure compliance with industry standards, Sky also needed an itemized return count and a certificate of destruction for all products processed.

Solution:

GreenSphere was tasked with handling the entire process, from stock auditing to final destruction and recycling. We implemented a detailed plan to ensure accuracy, security, and environmental responsibility at every stage of the project.

  1. Stock Count and Auditing:
Upon receiving the shipment of DVDs and Blu-rays from Sky, we began with a comprehensive stock count. Each item was catalogued, ensuring a precise itemized list of all returned stock. This gave Sky full visibility into the exact number of returns and confirmed the total volume to be processed.
  2. Itemized Return Report:
After completing the stock count, we provided Sky with a detailed, itemized return report. This report listed the number of each DVD/Blu-ray title, allowing Sky to track the returns and ensure that all stock was accounted for before recycling.
  3. Secure Recycling and Destruction:
Following the stock audit, the next step was to ensure that all DVDs and Blu-rays were securely destroyed to prevent any unauthorized resale or distribution. Using advanced granulation technology, we processed all discs into raw polycarbonate materials, ensuring the complete destruction of the media content while responsibly recycling the materials.
  4. Certificate of Destruction:
To provide full accountability, we issued Sky with a Certificate of Destruction. This document certified that all returned items were securely destroyed, adhering to industry standards and environmental compliance.

Outcome:

Sky received full assurance that their unsold and returned stock was processed securely and responsibly. The itemized return count and Certificate of Destruction provided transparency and legal compliance, ensuring that none of the media could be reintroduced to the market. Furthermore, by recycling the polycarbonate materials from the discs, we supported Sky’s
